Managing Director 

A growing, boutique agency working with purpose-driven organizations, we are small, yet mighty.

ignite: action works with clients in the nonprofit, association, and corporate space. We are seeking a managing director, with a focus on project management, brand strategy, and content marketing to join our team. A strong background in client/project management, a deep understanding of digital marketing and communications, and strong writing skills are required for the position. In addition, the ability to work remotely and occasionally in-person, be a part of a virtual team and manage multiple projects is an important part of this job. We are looking for a team player who can offer creative ideas and excellent customer service to our clients.

The managing director holds ultimate responsibility for the day-to-day running of client management and agency operations.


  • Implement strategic vision for the agency

  • Manage client relationships, including leading meetings and calls, responding to client needs in a timely fashion and setting and exceeding goals

  • Create and maintain project production schedules and delegate responsibilities and supervise the work of staff and consultants

  • Manage internal staff members and work closely with project consultants

  • Conduct weekly meetings and follow-up with clients

  • Serve as a content writer and digital marketing specialist for the firm, focusing on planning and executing online, email and social media campaigns

  • Develop creative strategies for client email, social media and web content

  • Write dynamic, engaging content for email programs, online advertising, social media posts, and clients’ websites

  • Develop brand and messaging strategies for client campaigns. Utilize this brand and voice across all platforms to maximize results

  • Build user-friendly analytics reports for clients focused on data-driven results and recommendations

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 - 7 years of marketing and content development experience, including client management and customer service

  • Eagerness to continue to learn and grow with technology and promote creative thinking within the firm

  • Knowledge of email marketing, content management systems, and social media platforms
